Wilckodontics is an advanced orthodontic procedure that uses the underlying issues of the bone and tooth arches that are causing the misalignment. Traditionally we would adjust these issues by forcing the orthopedic solutions on the teeth, pressuring them to adjust accordingly.

Orthopedic treatment solutions have only improved slightly. Corrective brackets have been made smaller and clearer, stiff wires have been given some bend, and clear plastic retainer systems like Invisalign has been introduced as well. Research have recently found positive results in adjusting the cortical plates that are above or below the teeth.

When your teeth grow in, the cortical plates establish their foundations in your mouth. This is the bone tissue that lives directly above in the upper arch and below the teeth in the lower arch, underneath the gum tissue. These are often called orthodontic walls. When we adjust these walls, we can straighten teeth much faster. The realignment of your teeth also stays in place for much longer as the plates are not working against the teeth.
